Obituary for John Cheney
Graveside services for John Wilford Cheney, 80, of Pineland, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 16, 2022 in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Apple Spring, with Bubba Sheffield officiating.
Mr. Cheney was born March 19, 1942 in Woodville, Texas, the son of the late Eunice (Cowart) and Wilford Cheney. He passed away Thursday, May 12, 2022 at his residence.
Mr. Cheney was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a retired machine operator.
Survivors include his sons, Shannon Cheney and wife Stephanie, John Cheney and wife Amy and Robert Lee Cheney; grandchildren, Amber Figueroa, Micheal Attaway, Ashley Hammer, Alisha Attaway, Justin Attaway, Crystal Cheney, Tyler Cheney, Kaitlyn Elliott, Jennifer Elliott, Lendsey Elliott, Corbin Cheney, Colby Cheney, and Adalyn Cheney; along with numerous great-grandchildren and other family members.
Mr. Cheney was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Sue Cheney; daughters, Stacey Hammer and Shelley Cheney; parents, Wilford and Eunice Cheney; and brothers, Mervil Lee Cheney, E B Sheffield, Floyd Cheney and Jimmy Wayne Cheney.
The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Monday morning at Oakley-Metcalf Funeral Home.
Services have been placed in the trust of Oakley-Metcalf Funeral home.
